Doula Business Class

This six-month workshop series includes sessions that teach the fundamentals for creating a complete, individualized, and sustainable doula business.  Doulas will receive individualized mentorship, peer support and feedback throughout the course. By the end of this course, doulas will have completed and created all the essential pieces for starting and successfully running their own unique doula business including:

• A complete business plan
• Professional website
• Contract and policies
• Budgeting, accounting and tax acuity
• Business registry and ID
• THW doula registry information and support
• Liability insurance
• A complete marketing plan

The market value for this course would normally be $2,500, but for this sponsored course, select candidates will receive scholarship awards based on certain criteria (see below).

I am recruiting 15-20 candidates for the upcoming February to July 2024 cohort. Classes will meet twice monthly with business mentorship with your instructor.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Culturally-Specific focused on three communities of color:
  • African-American/Black
  • Native American/Indigenous
  • Latina/Latinx
  • All are welcome to apply
• Has completed a Doula Training
• Plans to practice as a Labor/Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula or Full Circle/Spectrum Doula
• Committed to working and supporting expectant families in Washington County

Submit your completed application packet to kimberlyporterconsulting@gmail.com by Friday, December 15, 2023 . The trainer will review the application and make a decision to interview the applicant.

The applicant will be notified shortly after that if they have been accepted.
