Kimberly has specialized professional experience, implementation expertise and lived cultural wisdom in diversity, equity and inclusion and reproductive justice initiatives as well as strategic planning and cross-cultural communication experience with nonprofit community-based organizations and private owned businesses. Kimberly takes pride in sacred relationship building with clients and community collaborations to management of fiscal operations to supporting and mentoring staff.
Kimberly has a dual Bachelors degree in Psychology & Sociology from Kent State University and Masters degrees in Social Work & Infant & Toddler Mental Health from The University of Michigan. Kimberly is the Founder & CEO of Community Doula Alliance, Portland based, Black Woman-Led, 501c3 nonprofit doula agency. Kimberly is an unwavering, fearless, trailblazing Certified Holistic Birth & Postpartum Doula change agent whose mission has been to develop a racially and linguistically diverse doula workforce in the State of Oregon, create a culturally- specific, Holistic Maternal and Child Health Community-Based model of care for African-American/African, Latino/a/x, Indigenous & Asian expectant parents, and reduce pregnancy and birth related health disparities and inequities in the Portland and surrounding area.Kimberly has spent the last 33 years of her career in the social service, public health and mental health field conducting clinical research, creating culturally-specific maternal-child health home visiting programming, facilitating DEI trainings and serving as a practicing psychotherapist with diverse patients, specifically African American/African Latinas/x & Indigenous individuals with multiple intersection of multi-racial, gender and sexual identities in Ohio, Michigan, Oregon & Maryland and currently serving in a variety of professionals roles including a Community & Practice-Based Psychotherapist, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant, Infant/Toddler Parent & Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapist, DEI Consultant, Portland State University Adjunct Professor, Visionary & Founder of The Sacred Roots Doula Program at The Black Parent Initiative, Vice President of the Portland Doula Association and served 10 years as the Diverse Communities Board Chair of the Oregon Doula Association.
